Charcoal Drawings

Working en plein air in wooded landscapes and local quarries I gave myself two hours to complete each of these charcoal drawings. Portable easel in hand, I was able to access some of the hidden defining features of the Niagara Escarpment including the famous 'flowerpot' rock formations and the inner life of a working quarry.  Because these works were done in heavily forested areas and also open rocky locations many of the drawings have my blood on them.  The local mosquito and black fly populations were very interested in my presence.  Delwyn
